Take a look at some of our permanent exhibitions...

We have twelve permanent exhibitions here at the National Museum of Legends and Mythology, each one as thrilling and exciting as the next. We have everything from photographs of Nessie to a life-size replica of the Trojan Horse.

Here we take you through a few of the exhibitions in the museum:

Mythology In The Monarchy

One of our favourite attractions here at the museum is our exhibition on Mythology In The Monarchy.

We have one of the largest exhibitions on King Arthur (can anyone tell us his surname?) in the country,  with relics such as the round table, his mighty shield and many more items.

Our collection also houses the Glory Diamond – a large Diamond given to Isabella of France as a gift by a member of the Indian Lahora Dynasty in 1312 AD.

Make sure you pick up one of our museum maps to see more.

Ancient Mythology

History is full of legends and mythology, full of lost gods, lost cities and lost stories. In our Ancient Mythology exhibition you’ll find relics and treasures from the past.

The main attraction in this exhibit is the full scale Trojan horse, which we encourage you to get inside. You can also see a wooden-hilted Bone Club, the earliest on record, dating as far back as 3300 BC.

We also have three incredible statues sourced straight from Athens; Dionysus, Artemis (pictured) and Zeus, who are each depicted with their iconic posessions.

Forgotten Treasures

Whilst we can’t promise that this exhibition hosts the Holy Grail or the Ark of the Covenant we can promise that it houses some legendary items that will thrill and excite.

Have you heard of the lost shawl of Imhotep? No, well neither have we, but our prized possession in this exhbition is the Golden Spade, dating as far back as 1274 BC and rumoured to be part of the treasures from the lost city of El Dorado.

These coins make up the centrepiece of our collection of lost treasures. We’re also very proud of our replica of The Heart of the Ocean from The Titanic film.

Urban Legends & Modern Myths

Legends and Myths aren’t always historical, there are plenty of urban legends that form an essential part of modern life.

In our Urban Legends and Modern Myths exhibition you can find The Heart of the Internet – an artefact from 1983 AD which many claim to be the main element in the birth of the internet.

The main part of this exhibition is our expansive section on aliens and their role in modern culture. We have a very large replica of an alien spaceship and you can learn all about Area 51 and the myths and legends that surround it.
